One year ago, I buried my husband.
One year ago, I held his hand and said goodbye.
Now I spend most of my days lost somewhere between trying to remember every smallest detail of our lives, and trying to forget it all. I fill my hours with work until I’m too exhausted to remember him, to feel anything at all.
One year, 365 days—and then one knock at my door changes everything. A letter from him, a last request, a secret will:
My dearest Nadia,
Trust me, my love. One last time, trust me. Sometimes the epilogue to one story is the beginning of another.
Liezel’s Thoughts:
They said at the end that this story that they wrote was “heavy at times”… for me, that was an understatement. It was heavy from beginning to end. I’m a widow… the main characters of the book are both widows. Need I say more?
What I loved so much about this book was how the writers poured so much emotion into this story. I felt their loss, their despair, the emptiness… it all felt genuine. It was as if I was going through the emotions all over again.
The sadness I felt while reading Adrian’s part of the story was immense. But reading through Nadia’s part is even more heartbreaking. There were parts where I had to stop to process and hope… will all this pain be worth it in the end?
Absolutely! I love how the author(s) were able to transform the sorrow and anguish into happiness. I loved that it all flowed naturally- how they took the time and were patient with one another.
If you are looking for an emotionally charged, well-written love story – grab this book. Jasinda Wilder definitely doesn’t disappoint.
