One punch took him from Hollywood's Golden Boy to Bad Boy Brody.
The media didn't care he was grieving his brother's death. They descended on him, but to change his reputation, his manager got him a deal.
Act in an indie film, one that already had Oscar buzz, and he'd get the movie roles he needed to secure his future.
He took the deal.
Yet he wasn't prepared for the real-life people behind the script.
Angie’s Thoughts:
This book was good but not great. Tijan is an automatic read for me. I see her name and I read it. Period. I’ve loved all her books until now. I liked this book but wasn’t in love with it.
You know what this book is about if you’re reading this review so I won’t repeat what the blurb says. I’ll start out with what I loved first.
The writing was great! How Tijan can write a world in so much detail and you feel like you’re there is exactly what I expect from her. Even the characters had depth. I didn’t want to put it down until I finished it. I was hooked on the storyline.
I didn’t like how Brody and Morgan had no connection. The sex was hot but I didn’t feel like they were meant for each other. Maybe because their relationship was rushed. Some books I love instalove but this one fell flat. I was invested in their stories separately but felt like there was something lacking between them. Other than that I really did like it.
Read it for yourself though. Maybe I was in the mood for an instalove story. I wanted to love it. I really did and that makes me sad. I’m still looking forward to reading what Tijan writes next.
