Rule Number 1: Do Not Sleep with Clients
I was the best agent in the industry. More ruthless and cutthroat than any arrogant bastard you’d ever met.
The top actors in Hollywood came to me to get signed.
When I saw James Ryne, America’s Sweetheart, standing across the bar, I wanted her body like I’d never wanted anything before.
I broke rule number one.
But, after all, I was a man. No one had ever mistaken me for a saint.

Rule Number 1: Do Not Fall in Love Again
I didn’t know his name. I didn’t who he was. All I knew was that he was deliciously handsome and he had to be someone to get into the most elite bar in LA.
He was too old for me, too experienced—the kind of man everyone warned me about. It was only supposed to be a one-night stand. I could have walked away. I should have walked away.
And then I was forced to walk away when my scandal hit the tabloids.
I broke rule number one and now I had to make the biggest decision of my life.
Risk my heart or get signed.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

America’s Hollywood Sweetheart James Ryne wasn’t quite as lucky as Kim Kardasian. She didn’t gain the crazy popularity after a sex tape that she wasn’t privy to was released. For James, the complete opposite happened. Notoriety. Within minutes not only does her most trusted abandon her but her career disintegrates.

The only man who has the potential to save her career is her one night stand, Talent Agent Brett Young. It was just supposed to be one night yet Brett was completely affected by this woman who was  over a decade younger than him. When James literally comes knocking on his door, he could not turn her away.

This is one of the numerous elements that kept me enraptured – witnessing  two people who possessed an absurd amount of  passion and chemistry attempt to keep things professional. The struggle was real! Another thing was seeing how the age difference would play out. I thought I would feel uncomfortable but man, I was pleasantly surprised with how Marni Maan navigated that issue.

I couldn’t get enough of James and Brett’s  story. This is definitely one of those that I will undoubtedly be reading over and over again.  Read it and fall madly in love with this great couple.

The Verdict:
