Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody - absolutely nobody! - can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.
Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor, and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.
But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?
Liezel’s Thoughts:
Oh, my! That sure was one magnificent way to end one series and bringing forth a new one. The first few chapters of Good Boy seriously had me in tears. Come on, who in their right mind doesn’t love a beautiful and romantic wedding especially if it was between a beloved MM couple, Ryan and Jamie? ( Him/Us )
And my tears continued on after said wedding but for an entirely different reason altogether. 2 words… BLAKE RILEY. Good, grief this man. Loud, conceited, crude and utterly ridiculous. I was so frustrated with him in “Us” since he always had the worst timing ever. He seemed to be always in the way of Ryan and Jamie’s sexy times but in this book, I couldn’t get enough of him.
Behind Blakey’s crazy, I would have never expected the guy to have such have a heart the size of Canada but sure enough, he does. Considering what his last girlfriend put him through I thought he deserved an equally amazing woman and he definitely finds one in Jessie Canning.
Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen do not make it easy for this couple but it sure was one hell of a journey for Jessie to be officially welcomed into the WAGs. WAGs? What is it you ask? Read the book and you will find out all about the lovable people in the WAGs.
