'How long have you been sitting out here?'
'I got here yesterday.'
'Where did you come from?'
'I have no idea.'
East Yorkshire: Single mum Alice Lake finds a man on the beach outside her house. He has no name, no jacket, no idea what he is doing there. Against her better judgment, she invites him in to her home.
Surrey: Twenty-one-year-old Lily Monrose has only been married for three weeks. When her new husband fails to come home from work one night she is left stranded in a new country where she knows no one. Then the police tell her that her husband never existed.
Two women, twenty years of secrets and a man who can't remember lie at the heart of Lisa Jewell's brilliant new novel.
Angie’s Thoughts:
This is my second book by Lisa Jewell and I loved it! I Found You kept me on the edge of my seat until I finished the last sentence.
This book is told in multiple POV. First, we read about Alice who meets a strange man on a beach with no memory. She has a heart of gold or is just plain stupid for giving him a place to stay until he can remember. We also read “Frank’s” POV. The stranger with amnesia. He’s trying everything to remember and when he does will shock the hell out of you!
Next, we have Lily. Lily aggravated the heck out of me. I know she’s young but lord have mercy I know she can’t be that stupid and naive. She’s a newlywed who’s waiting for her husband to come home and he never shows. She tries to file police reports but they think he just leaves her but she insists that he’s so in love with her that he must have been taken or worse is dead.
This is the journey of 4 people’s lives. How they are connected and are interwoven. There is suspense, murder, intrigue and an ending that will leave you shaking your head and wondering what the hell you just read!
