The game was over and they stole the victory away from ME.
Cheating. Lies. Corruption. Death.
This pawn never stood a chance.
But then he came for ME.
He plucked ME from my nightmare and kept me safe.My heart was in tatters and my soul was lost.
Until the beast in ME woke up.
She was hungry and furious and didn’t play by the rules of their game.
We were a vicious team. And we changed the game altogether. I took what was theirs because they took what was mine.
ME against them. That is…until I had someone else with ME.
Someone who vowed to fight alongside ME until the very end.
I don’t want the love he has for ME.
But the beast in ME still craves to take everything she deserves.
He should run far away from ME.
Instead, he runs straight for ME.This is ME, baby and I am going to ruin them all.
Q&A by Angie & Liezel
How soon after losing your husband do you think you could move on or have sex with someone else?
Angie: Moving on would take years or maybe never but I hope to never find that out. In all honesty though who says how long it can take. I believe you can find more than one love in your life. Just one soulmate but I think you can find someone to help heal your heart.
Now for sex, sex is comforting and can make you forget if only for a little while. It can also get messy. When someone is mourning the lines get blurred and people seek comfort in different ways. I would have sex with someone after a month of mourning especially someone I’m extremely close too.
Liezel: Personally, moving on for me would be difficult considering the years we were together Then of course there are the children the consider. I think this would vary on many variables. There are many people who don’t do too well on their own so this may sway them into jumping back into the dating pool almost immediately.
What did you think of Brie? Ren?
Angie: I loved Brie even though at times she annoyed me. I thought she was resilient, strong, brave and despite her problems she never, NEVER let anything get her down for too long.
Now I loved Ren from the time he was introduced in the past books. I seen so much in him and knew he would grow into a young man that would be hot, covered in tattoos. Well maybe not the tattoo part but Kristi made that wish come true. He was Brie’s palm tree when she needed something strong. He compared her to a dandelion and like that a palm tree can weather great winds, water, and fire. They stand tall well some tilt but their still strong and he was her tree to her dandelion.
Liezel: Brie confused the hell out of me. I reveled in her courage and strength during those rough times but then loathed how she suddenly displayed her weakness. Ren was there though every step of the way, even when she thought she didn’t need it.
Was there anything you didn’t like about the book?
Angie: I even hate to say this but at times I felt it was rushed or maybe certain parts that were deemed unnecessary were edited out but would have made that part make more sense. I did receive an arc and it could quite possibly be that mine had a glitch. For that, I didn’t deduct any stars. Other than parts feeling rushed the book was superb like always.
Liezel: I felt like it ended too abruptly. The story, plot, characters, romance was amazing but there was just something unexplainable missing at the end. I just can’t seem to put my finger on it. The good thing is that there is more to the series. Hopefully, I can find what I am looking for in the next few books.
Would you recommend this book to anyone else?
Angie: Yes I would! A thousand times yes!! Brie and Ren’s story might not have been traditionally but their friendship never was too. K. Webster is an evil genius. She is the devil’s spawn after all! 😉
Liezel: Absolutely. The only thing is that you would have to read the entire series to fully grasp the story. Don’t you worry, though, every single book is a fast read and in their own right unique and fantastic. The complex relationships, especially in the last two books, is definitely intriguing. This is one of those series that I would remember vividly in the years to come.
