Did you have a favorite quote?
Liezel: The last few paragraphs were my favorite part of the book but I don’t want to spoil the entire story for you so I will go with this…
“I will always do what’s best for you, even if it means you wind up hating me. Because that’s how much I love you”…

She brought out the best in me. She brought out the worst. She brought it all out,
and I was her willing victim.
Her eager student. Her obedient apprentice.
What did you like most about this story?
Liezel: I loved that it was different. I would say that circumstances like this happen pretty often but have never been really delved into since it is sort of a sensitive subject matter. Having to go through the entire immigration process myself, it felt true to life. The story brought back so many memories which was another thing that I loved about this book.
Angie: I loved that it was different also. I loved that I couldn’t put it down. I was so engrossed in Max and Nina’s story that time seemed to exist. That to me is a great book.
Do you believe in setting someone free for the sake of love?
Liezel: I do, it would be painful as hell but it is the most logical thing to do. Kudos to Max for being able to commit to doing such a thing. It was so unexpected for him to do but I’m glad he went that route.
Angie: I agree with Liezel. If you truly love someone you must be willing to let that person go. That shows just how committed you are to them and how much you love and respect them
What are your thoughts about Max? About Nina?
Liezel: I wasn’t impressed with either of these characters at first considering how they wanted to lie about something so sacred but when I got to know them better I appreciated both of them.
Max was a bit indifferent and cold-hearted in the beginning but as the story went on I found out that he was the complete opposite. It rarely happens where the hero reveals their feeling first but Max didn’t have any qualms about it. Loved that about him!
Angie: I loved Max! I could read through his facade he put on and see there was more to him than meets the eye and boy I wasn’t wrong. My heart ached for him and loved him.
I had a love/hate relationship with Nina. I loved her for her stubbornness and wanting to be independent. Then I hated her for being so freaking clueless and indecisive. She really drove me nuts at times. Lol
Would you recommend this book?
Liezel: It’s written by Nicole Williams, so this isn’t even a question. Read it! Fall in love with Max and Nina as hard as we did.
Angie: Yes I would! I love Nicole’s writing and Hate Story is nothing short than of amazing!
