When rescue looks like a whole lot of trouble . . .
The road trip was definitely a bad idea. Having already flambéed her culinary career beyond recognition, Rita Clarkson is now stranded in God-Knows-Where, New Mexico, with a busted-ass car and her three temperamental siblings, who she hasn't seen in years. When rescue shows up---six-feet-plus of hot, charming sex on a motorcycle---Rita's pretty certain she's gone from the frying pan right into the fire . . .
Jasper Ellis has a bad boy reputation in this town, and he loathes it. The moment he sees Rita, though, Jasper knows he's about to be sorely tempted. There's something real between them. Something raw. And Jasper has only a few days to show Rita that he isn't just for tonight---he's forever.
Liezel’s Thoughts:
Tessa Bailey did such an outstanding job kicking off a Romancing the Clarksons Series. Just from the synopsis alone, I was intrigued. Aren’t you interested to know how a cross country round trip with four siblings would go?… Yes? I thought so too!
The first book features the mastermind of it all Rita. Having lost her place of “employment she decides that it is high time to honor her mother’s last wish. With her brothers and sister in tow they hit the road and at first everything was going as planned up until they hit New Mexico.
But you know most plans were made to be broken and in Rita and Jasper’s situation, it was broken in an oh so perfect way. At first, I couldn’t picture these two strangers together beyond the physical but I tell you Tessa Bailey proved me wrong which was part of the fun. I thought the romance was great but…
What will keep me coming back for more are the interesting personalities. In one way or another, every single one of the Clarksons has made their mark. Peggy’s flighty personality, in particular, caught my interest and among the siblings and her story is definitely the one I’m looking forward to the most.
Looking for a light, weekend read that will have you laughing one minute then swooning the next? Pick this one! I personally enjoyed it and can not wait to read more.
