My Unexpected Forever is the second installment in the Beaumont Series that features Harrison, the drummer of 4225 West. He isn’t your typical womanizing, out of control band member that you would have expected him to be. In fact, I would categorize him as being “the total package”- attractive, oozes sex appeal, talented, perfect son and brother and also a loyal friend. The most important thing about him is his dedication to his son. In all things, Quinn is his #1 priority.
Tell me, what is not to like about this man? Even with all those characteristics, Harrison’s love interest isn’t entirely convinced. She has all these hang-ups and because of all those issues, Harrison is consistently being jerked around. He tries to be this ever-loving patient man but can he wait around long enough until she is finally ready? Or will he be forced to let go of something that could be a perfect forever?

I’ve said this once before but it is rare that I find a good romance written in the male POV and this is just one of the many reasons why I adored this book. Since this one was mostly written in Harrison POV I felt an immediate connection to his character.
I thought that the pairing between him and Katelyn was one of the best I’ve seen yet. Their priorities and goals in life just seem to match perfectly. The passion between these two in and outside of the bedroom (*wink*) is way beyond steamy. Their physical connection isn’t what defines their relationship but it’s all the more important details that do.
Another thing I loved about this book is how family oriented it was. It not only portrays the dynamics between both of them but also the people closest to them. It did make it feel like it was longer than the usual story but I for one enjoyed reading about Liam and Josie and even Nick and Aubrey and how they make that complicated relationship work.
This book sure did illicit so many intense emotions out of me. I felt both Katelyn’s loss and her pain, Harrison’s love and hope and of course annoyance and hatred towards a certain obsessed person attempting to destroy so many lives.
As a wife and a mother, I have to tell you that this book affected me on so many levels I can’t even begin to explain. It was one of those that made my bottom lip quiver and my nose all stocked up and I loved every moment of it! Very impressive writing indeed.
