The series is about a young woman named Katie who was abducted at the age at a very young age of twelve. Her captor, Aaron intended on killing her like his previous victims but was she rescued just in time by his very own son Will. Will became Katie’s hero, her knight in shining armor. And while she wanted him at her side from then on, they drifted apart. This was up until Katie agreed to do an interview eight years later.
The good, the bad and the evil escalates from there. What I appreciated most about this book was the intricacies. There were so many complications happening between them yet every single time they took a hit … not only did they got through it together but it also bonded them together.
I have always been hesitant about stories that involve child abuse specifically child molestation. Mentioning the subject alone literally, makes my skin crawl. But being a fan of Monica Murphy’s work in the past, I was curious which lead me to read this series. I wanted to see how she would weave a story involving such a sensitive subject matter and would have to say that she manages it beautifully.
