Twenty-two years ago, I was cut from a cold, sodden womb, and cradled in the filth and poverty of Chicago’s concrete arms. Statistically, I wasn’t supposed to survive these streets past the age of eighteen.

Fate had a different plan.

I was bred for one purpose and one purpose only: to unleash death and destruction on my world.

My thoughts are power.

My words are weapons.

Evil created me then grace tried to save me. But first… they tried to kill me.
They call themselves the Se7en. They are sin and salvation, and everything we’ve feared from the beginning of time. And their leader is the deadliest of them all.

He doesn’t lose.

He doesn’t compromise.

And most importantly, he doesn’t distract himself with mortal weakness.

Not until me.

Kill one to save a million.

That’s what he told me when he took me as his prisoner.

Kill one to save a million.

That’s what he’s been trying to tell himself ever since he took me into his arms.

Micah’s Thoughts:

Disclaimer: This book is fantastic. Also, this book is a cliffhanger. You will want to read it all in one sitting and then you’ll get to 90% and start freaking out thinking: THERE IS TOO MUCH STORY TO BE TOLD AND NOT ENOUGH % LEFT!!! And you will be correct. And you will be me. And it will leave you hanging. As it did me.

The blurb doesn’t give you too much information…and neither will I. I really believe you should go into this book blind. It doesn’t take TOO long into this book for you to get a rough sketch of the world. The main character is Eden. And right off the bat, you realize that she has some sort of ominous power. And when I say right off the bat? I mean…first pages. This isn’t a spoiler of ANY kind. She lives with her sister and she works at a convenience store with her friend Lily.

Very soon, she has an encounter with a group who has a goal for her.

And that is all you will get from me.

WOW. This book was so great. It hit me out of nowhere. I knew it was paranormal going in, but hot damn. I was obsessed from page 1. I loved ALL of the characters and I hope ALL of them get books. Since it was book 1, we didn’t get too into each of their personalities, but I FEEL the differences of them and that is important. Because there were so many. The world isn’t different from ours, but it has an otherworldly feel to it.

I don’t want to give too much away. What I will say is READ it.

I give this book 5 whole complete stars. LURVED it.

Angie’s Thoughts:

Holy Hell! Wth did I just read? I will never be able to read the Bible the same. Each time I do I’ll think of the Se7en.

This book is about Eden and the Se7en. Eden is a human girl that has been “Called” and Se7en are the demons that are trying to kill her. That is until L wants to save her.

Eden can make humans do things by just reaching into their soul and mind and telling them what to do. Whether it be to fall, upgrade her room, grab a donut or kill themselves or others, she can do it. For that, she’s a valuable weapon that some want to kill, save or even detonate.

“I was born sinner, and I will die sinner. Even if it’s at my own hands.”

The Se7en are demons who are doing good, looking for redemption to try to get back in the good graces of God. The main demon we meet is L. He has to live with his regrets everyday and he feels like if he can save Eden that he will be able to re-enter Heaven.

“I am hell on earth, Eden. But that doesn’t mean I want to be.”

Eden and L have this undeniable chemistry that they try to deny. But when they give in we have this explosive, amazing, hot as hell sex that makes you curl your toes while reading.

“I am wetness and warmth. I am bliss and pain. I am Heaven. I am Hell.”

Born Sinners is one of the best paranormal romance books I’ve read in a long time. You get so lost in the world of Eden and the Se7en that all time ceases to exist.

This is S.L. Jennings best work to date in my opinion. She writes a world that you could imagine exists and her characters come to life before you. Only Mrs. Jennings can make you fall in love with demons.

The Verdict:
