These Royals will ruin you…
From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself.
Reed Royal has it all—looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life.
What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father’s new ward suffer turned into something else entirely—keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed’s arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed’s entire world begins to fall apart around him.
Ella doesn’t want him anymore. She says they’ll only destroy each other.
She might be right.
Secrets. Betrayal. Enemies. It’s like nothing Reed has ever dealt with before, and if he’s going to win back his princess, he’ll need to prove himself Royally worthy.
Angie’s Thoughts:
What in the heck did I just read and why did it have to end? I thought Paper Princess was great well Broken Prince was out of this world! My mind is blown with another phenomenal book by Erin Watt!
Broken Prince picks up exactly where PP left us with that edge of your seat cliff! Ella is missing and Reed is going out of his mind! Callum and the Royals will do and pay whatever they can to get her back. She is the glue that holds their family together and its foundation is cracking. Ella doesn’t want to return though. She feels so betrayed and I can’t blame her.
“From this point on, they’re my enemies. They’re the prison guards and I’m the inmate. They’re not my friends or my family. They’re nothing to me.”
Ella really shined in this book. I absolutely loved her and how badass she was! She doesn’t take any bullshit and stays strong to her word. Her stubbornness is also her weakness and aggravated the crap out of me. But I understood her. Reed hurt her.
“We’re nothing. We’re smoke–insubstantial and meaningless,” She flicks her fingers against each other in a soundless snap. “We aren’t even a tragedy. We’re less than nothing.”
Reed is a completely different story. He becomes lost. He’s incomplete and destructive without Ella. We see a side of him that is different from what we see in PP. He becomes obsessed with getting Ella back and make her forgive him. It’s heartbreaking and tragic at the same time. But honesty is the best policy too.
The writing is nothing less than superb! We are left with another cliff and this one sucked worse than the one in PP! I mean WTH??? I can’t wait to read Twisted Palace! I need to know what happens like yesterday!
Liezel’s Thoughts:
I do have to admit that I was a little late jumping on the “Royals” bandwagon. I remember as I was reading through the first book, I had to stop and ask Angie ^^ “Why didn’t you tell me that this series was this AMAZING?” I sure would have bumped the series way up my TBR list if I had known just how addicting the series is.
This is one of those stories where once you start you can not put down. The secrets, the intrigues, the constant arguments and confrontations definitely had me on my tippy toes.
The complicated relationships especially that of Reed and Ella had me feeling frustrated one minute and giddy the next. It literally was an emotional roller coaster but even so…I would not have wanted it any other way!
I’m done playing games, Ella. No other girls exists in this world for me. If you see me talking to one, know that I’m talking about you. If you see me walking next to someone. I’m wishing it was you. You’re the only one for me.”
What I enjoyed most about this book was the character development. Ella accepting her role as a part of the Royal family was well played out. She is no longer the emotional teen that we met in Paper Princess. Oh no! Don’t mess with Ella because she finally grew some claws and how sharp they are!
I thought it was remarkable how Reed turned a new leaf because of her. Ella certainly brought the best out of him…or perhaps I should say she brought out the best in all of the Royals for that matter. She hasn’t been with them THAT long but you could tell she was the glue that kept them together.
I need to mention one downside about this book … the CLIFFHANGER. It ends on such a surprising note. Hours later I still am dumbfounded by that shocking conclusion. All I can say is that these authors sure have my complete attention. I am one of many who will be waiting impatiently for the next installment.
