It was supposed to be simple. Find the bad guy and save the girl.
I hadn’t expected Race True—a golden-haired beauty with a silver tongue that made me want to toss the rules aside.
I tried to fight my attraction to her, but she made it impossible.
Our chemistry became too much to ignore.
Temptation is dangerous.
In a moment of weakness, everything changed. We gave in to our carnal desires, letting ourselves drown in the passion we could no longer deny.
The problem was that I still had a job to do before her world collapsed.
If I failed at finding the person behind the threat, I’d lose Race forever.
Liezel’s Thoughts:
Chelle Bliss has been on my radar for a while now and since the first book of her new series – Alfa PI went on sale this weekend I thought it was a great time to finally read her work. Needless to say, I choose a good story to keep me busy this weekend.
Morgan DeLuca, much to his ma’s delight, has finally come home from the army. Not having any other plans after, he decides to accept an offer which involves relocating closer to his family and taking a position at his cousin’s private investigation business. As soon as he moves he is immediately given his first case and this is where he first encounter the prim and proper Race True.
At first, I couldn’t picture these two characters together. Morgan was this laid back military man and Race was this uptight and untouchable beauty. I thought there was no way that these two would have anything in common. I loved how Chelle Bliss able to prove me wrong however because as soon as Race was thrown in certain situations her tough facade melted away revealing one interesting woman.
While I thought Race was intriguing I couldn’t say the same about Morgan. Aside from the alpha-male ways during those smoldering sexy times the rest of his character was in my opinion less than redeeming. I’ll be honest and say that their first tryst (and all the other rendezvous thereafter) was fantastic, but there were moments where I thought that he should have demonstrated some kind of restraint. In this instance, a little tension would have gone a long way.
Despite the issues I had above, I thought “Sinful Intent” was a great introduction to this new series. The story plot and flow were good. The writing was acceptable. I thought the supporting characters were also amusing. Besides this, and the remarkable romance, the strong emphasis on the family will definitely draw me further into this series.
