Wealthy businessman Gabriel Bishop rules the boardroom with the same determination and ruthlessness that made him a rock star on the rugby field. He knows what he wants, and he’ll go after it no-holds-barred.

And what he wants is Charlotte Baird.

Charlotte knows she’s a mouse. Emotionally scarred and painfully shy, she just wants to do her job and remain as invisible as possible. But the new CEO—a brilliant, broad-shouldered T-Rex of a man who growls and storms through the office, leaving carnage in his wake—clearly has other plans. Plans that may be equal parts business and bedroom.

If Charlotte intends to survive this battle of wits and hearts, the mouse will have to learn to wrangle the T-Rex. Game on.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

“Bad Things Happen… But Then Good Things Happen”

If anyone deserved one happily ever after then I would have to say that Charlotte Baird more than rightfully earned it. She was in ONE serious relationship and it was literally ONE from the depths of hell. She barely survived and this is why it isn’t surprising that she was  guarded especially around the opposite sex including her new boss Gabriel.

As soon as Gabriel met Charlotte (and what a great first meeting it is!) he knew that she was different. He could have had any woman he wanted yet rather than being discouraged by her overall demeanor  he felt even more compelled by her. As he spends more and more time around her he found that behind the delicate facade that she was not only attractive but also intelligent and sharp. She definitely wasn’t like anyone he had met before. He was hesitant at first, but their chemistry was undeniable that he just couldn’t resist taking it further.

Charlotte responded perfectly to Gabriel’s advances and while I should have felt somewhat creeped out in regards to the interoffice relationship I would have to say  that this one was written exceptionally well. I am certain that my opinion was markedly influenced by these outstanding characters.

I thought that their pairing was  fantastic. I loved how Gabriel  became so attuned to Charlie’s every emotion. It was to the point where he knew exactly what she needed before she even realized herself that she needed it. He definitely became her savior and her rock.

The only downside I could think of is that the relationship development was  slower  than what I normally prefer. After contemplating about it a little more, I eventually did come to realize that it was exactly what Charlotte needed.  It was a good thing that Gabriel’s character was  extremely patient and understanding  given her situation. Like I said, he was fantastic!

I do have to say that I immensely enjoyed the second installment to the”Rock Kiss” Series. It just goes to show that no matter what genre Nalini Singh is writing- whether it be urban fantasy, paranormal romance or contemporary romance, every single book is a guaranteed page turner.

About Nalini Singh

I’ve been writing as long as I can remember and all of my stories always held a thread of romance (even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes). I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There’s no other job I would rather be doing. In September 2002, when I got the call that Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior, it was a dream come true. I hope to continue living the dream until I keel over of old age on my keyboard.

I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. I also spent three years living and working in Japan, during which time I took the chance to travel around Asia. I’m back in New Zealand now, but I’m always plotting new trips. If you’d like to see some of my travel snapshots, have a look at the Travel Diary page (updated every month).

So far, I’ve worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher and not necessarily in that order. Some might call that inconsistency but I call it grist for the writer’s mill.
