Luke Saint
F**k being good. I won’t be tamed.
There are three things in life I’m damn good at: f**king, jumping out of planes, and chasing forest fires.
Settle down? Yeah, right. And definitely not with someone like Autumn Mayburn. She's uptight, smart-mouthed, and hell, she has a kid.
Did I mention she’s ten years older than me? There are a million reasons I shouldn't touch her.
F**k all of those reasons.
The single mom with the smokin’ hot body and the sass to match is going to be mine.
Autumn Mayburn
There’s nothing on this earth I despise more than a bad boy. Especially an infuriatingly cocky, womanizing, oozes-sex-from-every-pore bad boy.
I’m a mom. A businesswoman. I have responsibilities. The last thing I need is to get laid and played by Luke Saint.
He thinks that just because he saved my orchard from a fire, he can tell me how to run it.
He thinks he knows what I need, what I crave.
The problem is, I think he might be right.
Liezel’s Thoughts:
I had three glorious days off this week. You know what I did with all those days? I spent them completely immersed in Sabrina Paige’s West Bend Saint’s Series is what I did. Honestly, I really wasn’t looking to read all three stories, but I am glad that I did because the background story was quite remarkable.
What I liked about this series it that even though it revolves around the four Saint brothers each and every one of the books have something different to offer. One book is about the unlikely pairing between a movie star and discharged war hero. The other is an amazing story of first love/ second chance romance and this one is about a single mom/older woman and a womanizing, adrenaline junkie.
After reading all three, I would have to say that this third installment was by far my favorite. There’s just something about single mothers finding love again that appeals to me especially when the story is well written like this one. Throw in the fact that the heroine, Autumn is also ten years Luke’s senior was the icing on the cake! She definitely deserved something good in her life not only because of all that she went through in her previous relationship but because she was an overall fantastic person. I adored her for her strength. Her willingness to take full control of her life after getting out of a bad situation was beyond admirable.
I will say that I thought the pairing between her and Luke was kind of “off” in the beginning but as the story progressed and we witness Luke fully embed himself into their lives then my entire opinion changed. Luke, in all accounts, was exactly what Autumn needed and vice versa. I thought the chemistry between them was fantastic. There were multiple times where I just wanted to reach in and pat Autumn on the back and say “You go, girl!” (One word…stamina…)
If you asked me what I loved most about the story then that would be how the author tied up all the loose ends from the previous books. And while committing to reading three books seems a bit much I would recommend doing so since each story compliments the other perfectly. Besides the romance, the background story is what made these books completely worthwhile.
For me, the entire West Bend Saints Series is one great read. Three books later and I still feel like I could continue on and read more. I enjoyed every moment and I can not wait to read more in the next book titled “Killian”.
