Red carpet. Backstage. VIP all the way, baby.

When you're the prince of Hollywood, and everyone wants a piece of the action. I've got paparazzi stalking my every move, and supermodels lined up to spread their legs for a shot at fame. But this girl is different. She's been hired by the studio to keep me in line. One wrong move, and my comeback is going up in smoke.

I should keep my distance, but I've never played by the rules.

I'm going to show her just how good a bad boy can be.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to read early this week. All I knew is that I wanted something Hollywood-y and since I couldn’t pick something I went back and dug down deep into my app and started rereading Come Away With Me and Love Unscripted. Then I had to stop because “Bootycall” came across my Kindle Unlimited feed. Hell yeah, I’m not ashamed to admit it – that hot book cover was the first thing that caught my attention. Soon after I dropped everything else and began devouring this book.

The beginning was beyond catching. We are introduced to Dylan Marlowe – stuck in a rut in his massive abode. Just like any of us does when we’re bored he starts playing with his phone. While us normal people would be on FB or Instagram (Candy Crush?), he gets on his handy hook-up app where he eventually finds Gemma. Hook-ups aren’t Gemma’s MO at all but needing a  boost after a bad break-up she finds herself doing it anyway.

I would say that she had NO regrets after that one night stand because Dylan was definitely on his “A” Game. Performance wise he was amazing! I loved that he connected with her on a personal level first and when things escalated he paid more than enough attention to Gemma’s needs first before satisfying his own. At this point in the book, I took a liking to the man.

My opinion of him drastically changed however after that night. As soon as he switched to work mode he became this unrecognizable, egotistical, privileged douche. It was as if he had multiple personalities, like seriously? The way Dylan treated people was despicable. If the author’s intention was to create one infuriating character than he really did succeed because this superstar was annoying as it gets.

I was waiting for Dylan’s redeemable moment, but unfortunately, it doesn’t happen in this book.  All I know is I will be patiently waiting for the follow-up. Besides this unexplainable  fascination  I have for Dylan,  I am interested in learning more about Gemma whom I thought was impressionable.

The Verdict:

Come Away With Me by Kristen Proby! I loved it. It was my first by this author and most certainly not my last.
