“She healed me. She broke me. I set her free. But we are in this together. We will end this together. The rules of this ancient game can’t be broken.”
Nila Weaver no longer recognises herself. She’s left her lover, her courage, and her promise. Two debts down. Too many to go.
Jethro Hawk no longer recognises himself. He’s embraced what he always ran from, and now faces punishment far greater than he feared.
It’s almost time. It’s demanding to be paid.
The Third Debt will be the ultimate test...
Liezel’s Thoughts:
“Third Debt” continues where Second Debt left off where we find Nila being rescued. She is finally brought home. This should have been a relief for her but just as soon as she leaves the Hawkseodge gates she realizes that this is a huge mistake. London even with her twin in it isn’t her home anymore rather it is where Jethro is. She begs for him to come get her. Tells him that this is all a misunderstanding, that she belongs with him but all of her pleas fall on deaf ears.
He was in love but after Nila departure he became a changed man. This is all Cut’s doing. As part of his punishment he gives Jethro a choice and he accepts it willingly to protect the people he cares for. He becomes an empty shell.
Since the love Nila has for Jethro is infinite she isn’t willing to give up. She tries desperately to get through to him but it’s no use. Cut’s manipulation is just too much to overcome in his state of mind. Nila isn’t alone in this quest but it just might be too late because Cut has declared that it is time to collect another debt.
Just when I thought the rest of the debts can not get any worst the third is just as horrendous as the second. At this point I’m wondering how much was Nila willing to endure?
“….don’t tell me you wish you’d never met me, Jethro Hawk, because I would live a thousands debts just for the gift of having you love me.”
I am going to be honest and say since the last book I have been feeling frustrated with this series. It has become too long and drawn out for me. Because of this I’ve come to hate it but when we witness the extent of what they are willing to go through because of this insurmountable love you I can’t help but fall deeply back into this series all over again.
The writing is as always phenomenal which is another reason why I keep coming back for more. The drama, suspense and most especially the romance is well-balanced and remains dark, intense and interesting. The depth of the story is magnificent. Like the rest of the Indebted Books, “Third Debt” is definitely a page turner.
