After recovering from being scorned by the same man, best friends Brooke and Savannah have not only mended their friendship, but also their hearts. With both girls finally married to the Worthington twins, these women have found it all and are living in pure marital bliss.

But not all honeymoons last forever. When Brooke and Josh announce they have a baby on the way, Savannah realizes this is all a bit more than she signed up for. With pressure coming from Jake to start a family, tempers flare and relationships are pushed to the breaking point; driving her to the brink of insanity as she is propelled toward the house in suburbia with the white picket fence.

Brooke tries to stand by Savannah, and be the best friend she has always been, but soon the tables turn and Brooke will need everyone's support as her world comes crumbling down atop of her.

Join Brooke and Savannah in Hourglass Squared as they fight any obstacle that comes their way, together. Relationships will be tested, friendships strained, causing the course of their lives to be changed, forever.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

This book follows the best friends Brooke and Savannah after what I like to call the “Lucas Wellington debacle.” Both women are happy in their respective relationships and in fact Brooke and Josh are expecting. Always wanting to raise kids at the same time as his brother,  Jake  wants the same with Savannah.

But of course Savannah feels strongly about the entire subject. She just isn’t ready and while I totally understand where she was coming from I felt very annoyed with how she was going about it.  I wouldn’t have blamed Jake if he ended up leaving her over it. I thought she was selfish especially  for raining on her bff’s parade. This should have been a happy time for her but Savannah  spoiled most of it for her.

I hated her at that point and wanted to hit her over her head hoping that she would pull it together but once she had that moment in the bathroom my perspective totally changed. I fell in love with her again and fell even more with the way that she supported Brooke through those difficult times.

Which brings me to the highlight of the story. Brooke.  I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I felt disheartened by her situation. All the issues that she went through were definitely emotionally taxing but for me that aspect of the story was what made this story truly special.

It wasn’t just a romance surrounding two wonderful couples’ rather it was so much more! It became multi-dimensional. It depicted real life issues that gave you hope. It provided me with even more awareness  and of course it stressed just how precious family is.

I thought “Hourglass Squared”  was a fantastic follow- up to “Hourglass” Like I mentioned in my previous review however it’s Luke’s story (which drops in 3 days) that I am really looking forward to.

The Verdict:

rating-4
