Liezel’s Thoughts:
I mentioned in my “Alex” Book Review that I couldn’t wait for the second installment of the Cold Fury Hockey Series since it would be featuring Garrett. He made a good impression back then and I would have to say that he continued to do so in this book as well.
As we know Garrett is the ultimate playboy. Not a single woman ever said “no” to him, that is up until he meets Olivia Case at a party. Olivia’s beauty was what first thing that caught Garrett’s attention but I imagine that it was mostly her avoidance that tempted him to pursue.
At first, he didn’t know that Olivia was Sutton’s cousin. Olivia however knew of his reputation and while she rejected him that first time she just couldn’t deny him a second time. She thought it was exactly what she needed given her situation. She needed a distraction and oh boy did she get a fantastic one. Let’s just say… that their chemistry was magnificent!
As Garrett got to know her better he decided that Olivia could never be categorized as just another one-night stand. And while he was finally willing to give a relationship a chance Olivia was the one that was hesitant. She refused to let the relationship go that far.
Garrett wasn’t giving up though. Even when he was rejected and given a way out multiple times over he was determined to make things work. In the beginning, I didn’t think he was capable of love but when he finally did love he sure did put his mind and soul into it. I have to say that I liked him in “Alex” but in “Garrett”…. I feel in love with him.
I love the entire series so far. All the characters are great, the story line and story flow is perfect. I love that it isn’t just a romance or couples beating the odds in finding lasting relationships rather it also talks of important real life situations and how they overcoming them.
There are so many great elements in this series. Give them a try, I am sure you will adore them as much as I do.
