When Cassie Taylor met Ethan Holt at acting school, sparks flew. She was the good girl actress. He was the bad boy about campus. But one fated casting choice for Romeo and Juliet changed it all. Like the characters they were playing, Cassie and Ethan's romance seemed destined. Until he broke her heart and betrayed her trust. Now the A-list heartthrob is back in her life and turning her world around. One touch at a time.
Cast as romantic leads once again, they're forced to confront raw memories of the heartbreaking lows and pulse-pounding highs of their secret college affair. But they'll also discover that people who rub each other the wrong way often make the best sparks.
Liezel’s Thoughts:
After reading stellar reviews for “Bad Romeo” I immediately added it to my “Need To Read ASAP” list thinking that this would be the best book to end off the year with. After finishing it last night however I would have to say that I feel a bit torn and slightly disappointed. Why do I feel this way you might you ask?
Well, the story starts out fantastic… Cassie first meets Ethan during auditions for drama school. Their chemistry during auditions onstage was instantaneous and it further develops when they both enter college.
Cassie always knew what she wanted. She wanted Ethan – badly. She did not make any qualms over it. Ethan had it bad for her too but something was holding him back. This is what captured my interest.
I wanted to know… I mean, I needed to know why Ethan was so hesitant. From the very start you could tell that what Cassie and Ethan would be something magnificent but Ethan kept holding back. With all that pain that he put Cassie through I expected his reasons would be somewhat more significant. This is what was disappointing about it.
All of the other elements of this story was good. The theater/ college setting, the “Romeo and Juliet” feature and the supporting characters were quite interesting. The romance was also satisfactory but even with all that, when you look at the bigger picture Ethan’s issues just wasn’t convincing enough for this entire story to work for me.
Even with my concerns above, I thought that “Bad Romeo” was a good debut. It certainly set a great precedence for this second chance romance series.
