"Patrick Knight, single, retired Guard-turned private investigator. I was a closer. A deal maker. I looked clients in the eye and told them I’d get their shit done. And I did..."
Patrick doesn't do "nice."
At least, not anymore. After his fiance cheats, he follows up with a one-night stand and a disastrous office hook-up. His business partner (Derek Alexander) sends him to the desert to get his head straight--and clean up the mess.
While there, Patrick meets Elaine, and blistering sparks fly, but she's not looking for any guy. Or a long-distance relationship.
Patrick's ready to do anything to keep her, but just when it seems he’s changed her mind, the skeletons from his past life start coming back.

Liezel’s Thoughts:
I thought Tia Louise couldn’t write anything hotter than One to Keep (Derek and Melissa’s Story) but I was wrong, One to Hold is even steamier than it’s predecessor.
From the very beginning we are pulled into Patrick’s testosterone filled world. Being badly burned by his previous love interest he throws himself into these outrageous tryst that lead him to nowhere but trouble. This situations that he gets into made me question his judgement so many times but as the story goes on you come to understand his way of thinking.
His ways change once he sees Elaine who we’ve first meet in One to Keep. Their attraction is instantaneous. It had that “love at first sight” feel to it and although those particular scenes weren’t 100% convincing to me I thought the aftermath was entirely so. The chemistry and passion between the main couple was outstanding.
“Whatever happened between us, in that moment, I knew the truth. She was my heart and my soul. She was the one I’d never get over. She was the one I would always keep.”
The supporting characters were also terrific. Even the women from Patrick’s past were an unexpected surprise. I loved that we were also able to see how Patrick and Derek built they’re friendship and get a different view on what happened between Derek and Melissa.
I enjoyed Patrick and Elaine’s story just as much as I did Derek and Melissa’s. There was some questionable moments when they first met but the author was able to pull through and prove to me that they were meant to be together.
I thought the story line was great and had so much more depth then your typical romance. I would have to say that these books are highly addictive. Addictive enough for me to go back and reread the first book.
I can not wait to see where Tia Louise takes us next.
