Claire’s world once again spun out of control. Unwilling to allow her child to suffer the consequences of an old vendetta, Claire fled...
At one time, Claire was held captive in an opulent mansion—then her incarceration was a cell inside a state penitentiary. Was her new prison—a tropical island—truly less lonely? Perhaps that was the game master’s plan, all along?
Who will save Claire from her oldest nightmare and her newest reality? Will it be Tony? Can he forgive her for leaving him—again? Harry? Will he utilize previously unknown connections to save the woman who infiltrates his thoughts? Maybe Phil? Will his devotion in keeping Claire and her child safe be rewarded?
As the cards are played—sins of the past, innocent victims, and truths are revealed. With compartmentalization no longer an option, is the reality too much? Could there be an even worse isolation?
With the game master dealing from a stacked deck, can this new high-stakes game possibly be won?

Liezel’s Thoughts:
Convicted took me on a roller coaster ride with tons of ups and downs, twists, and turns that lead me into an abrupt “hold your breath” stop then soared me back into the stratosphere. Convicted was just as I expected and so much more.
The story weaves between the timelines first bringing us forwarded to the year 2016 where we find Claire in an institution. My first reaction was…..” WHAT, how could that possibly be?” From those very first chapters, I found myself very much immersed in this intense saga. I wanted to know how she ended up in such a facility. Where and what happened to Tony? I was expecting them to be living carefree and in total bliss by that time – but that isn’t so.
Moving back into present time, Claire is in hiding overseas. Her family thinks that Tony is holding her against her will (just like in Consequences) but he has nothing to do with her disappearance this time around. He is just as stumped as the authorities. Being monitored himself he finds a way to free himself from their spying eyes.
“You, my dear, are my drug. I’m so damn addicted, I can’t quit you – I know because I’ve tried -not for me – but for you – I failed miserably. The more I have of you – the more I need. I can never get enough…”
His primary aim is to find his ex-wife. At first, I found his intentions questionable. This is one of the things that I enjoy about the series – it’s unpredictability. When he does eventually catch up with her, we are introduced to a Tony that we’ve never experienced before. He has certainly changed and it is all because of Claire’s influence. Just when you think that they have found their haven it is yet again shattered by the unexpected adversary – Catherine.
Catherine is the queen of all the conniving bitches in my literary universe. She is responsible for so many deaths throughout the generations. Her vendetta against the family is so profound she is determined to continue to unleash havoc until every single child is no more.
Together Tony and Claire leave paradise to save her next mark. Tony knew that his decision could potentially change his life forever but despite that knowledge he was willing to accept the risks. He was tired of running and was ready to pay for the mistakes he committed in the past. He wanted to finally be free and live happily with his family and this was the step he needed to take to get to that point.
Of course not everything goes as planned. During that final confrontation, lives were perceived to be lost causing Claire’s break from reality.
Is it over yet? Oh no, not even close but I can not go further without giving away the major precipice of the story. Let me just tell you that the rest is jaw- dropping, explosive, heartwarming and oh so romantic. In my mind, I’m thinking “How did Aleatha come up with all this?”
In my opinion, Ms. Romig is a literary genius. The entire series was perfection – a masterpiece!
