Because of the economic crash the Molina’s are struggling to keep their multiple businesses afloat. Gage Emerson is out to purchase some of this business for its prime real estate. The one property that he wants the most is now being managed by one attractive Marina Knight.
Meeting her for the first time, he was immediately smitten by her intelligence and charm. That same night he ends up insulting the Molina family without realizing that she was part of it. Needless to say, he tries every trick in the book to get into her good graces not only because he’s attracted to her but also because he wants a part of their inner circle.
As much as Gage seems that he’s using Marina, she is doing the same too. She wants his connections to broaden her business and if she gets a piece of him in the process than that would just be icing on the cake. What they never accounted for was instead of it all being about work and business it all turns into nights of intense pleasure and so much more.
“Don’t you feel it, Marina? Feel the chemistry between us, brewing and popping? Don’t you want to do something about it?”
I loved Book 1: Crave and was very excited to get my hands on this one. Just as much as I found Crave enjoyable I found that this one was too.
From the very start I was enraptured by Gage. I thought those very first chapters were quite amusing in fact. How one successful man makes a fool out of himself over one attractive woman. Mind you, their entire conversation lasted a mere fifteen minutes and yet he manages to terribly embarrass himself. After that incident he sure goes to great lengths to earn her forgiveness.
I loved the tension between Marina and Gage in this book. They tried to fight these feelings that were brewing between them because they knew that so much was at stake. With Gage it was the loss of an important business acquisition that he has been working on forever. With Marina it was even more. With the way it was written, you could really feel that both were struggling with prioritizing their goals when they realized that their relationship was moving to something serious.
I also appreciated that we were given the opportunity to check in with Archer and Ivy too . The fact that these books can be read independently may be another added plus for some. However, I have to tell you that once you’ve read one or the other you won’t be able to help yourself and end up reading both instead. They are that addicting.
The only downside I found with it was that they’re shorter than your normal books. The stories just seem to end so fast , leaving you wanting more. I just can not help fall in love with these alpha-male billionaires. Just like Crave, it being short & sweet and direct to the point this book did not disappoint in delivering one hot and sexy romance.
