"I told him goodbye, and I will not call him. I know if I do, it will be my undoing, and I'll once again be caught up in his spell. I will once again be...lost."

In her private journals, Rebecca laid bare her soul, revealing her obsession for the one man whose erotic demands captivated her imagination--and enslaved her forever. Now, with Rebecca no longer in his life he is lost, questioning everything he thought he knew about himself and about control he holds in such high regard. One women will reach out to heal him and then turn away, leaving him haunted. She is nothing he thought he wanted and somehow everything he needs. He tells himself to forget her but he cannot escape his desire for her. He has to have more...

Liezel’s Thoughts:

The Master Undone is a novella told in Mark Compton’s point of view.

In this story we find Mark flying out to New York to visit his mother that’s been hospitalized. Much to his surprise, Mark finds an unfamiliar, pretty blond picking him up at the airport. As we know Mark has a unique preference when it comes to picking his women.  Crystal nowhere near fits that criteria but for some reason he is drawn to her and she to him. She finds her attractive and intriguing. He finds himself  in the position where he allows touch and some intimacy that we rarely see in the previous books. There’s no telling if its just because he feels lonely and just needed someone to be there during that difficult time or if Crystal herself.

I  just can’t get enough of this series. ( To read my ARC review for Book 2: Being Me click HERE) And I  have to tell you that  I enjoyed this little snippet as well…a peek into Mark’s mind so to speak. I like that we get to see his vulnerable side not only when dealing with his mother but also  how he feels and still wishes things could have ended up differently for  Rebecca.

The Master Undone was short but I thought was very really well written. Unfortunately, the first two books are required to fully understand this intense saga. I for one  love the new addition to this series and hope to read more about Mark and Crystal  in the final book.

The Verdict:

This is a series I feel does need to be read in order. I did read book one and then went on to read this one and found that it spoils it for me a little because I did go out of order but I plan on going back and rectifying that. Thank you for your great review.
