So how did I get myself into this situation, you ask? Simple: desperation. When you're faced with being homeless and hungry or taking off your clothes for money, the choice is easier than you'd imagine. That doesn't make it easy, though. Oh no. I hate it, in fact. There's nothing I'd like more than to quit and never go into another bar again, never hear the techno beat pulsing in my ears again, never feel the lecherous gazes of horny men again.

Then, one day, I meet a man. He's in my club, front and center. He watches me do my routine, and his gaze is full of hunger. Not the kind of desire I'm used to though. It's something different. Something hotter, deeper, and more possessive. I know who he is; of course I do. Everyone knows who Dawson Kellor is. He's People Magazine's Sexiest Man alive. He's the hottest actor in Hollywood. He's the man hand-picked for the role of Rhett Butler in the long-awaited remake of Gone With the Wind.

He's the kind of man who can have any woman in the entire world with a mere crook of his finger. So what's he doing looking at me like he has to have me? And how do I resist him when he looks at me with those intoxicating, changeable, quicksilver eyes?

I'm a virgin, and he's an American icon of male sexuality. I'm a stripper, and he's a man used to getting anything and everything he wants. And he wants me. I know I should say no, I know he's the worst kind of player…but what my mind knows, my body and my heart may not.

And then things get complicated.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

This story is about a young woman determined to find her own place in the world. Grey is the only child of a very strict Baptist pastor that has always lived a sheltered life. It has been ingrained into her to avoid thoughts and actions that would lead to sin. Her best friend growing up was her own mother and after losing her to cancer she decides it is time to live her life. A life in L.A. Her father begs her to stay but to her nothing else mattered except  pursuing  her dream.

Her road to success isn’t easy. All through out college she struggles financially and out of desperation she does the unthinkable. She becomes a stripper. Because of her strict upbringing she experiences so much mental turmoil about her job but she just has no other choice. Her dreams and aspirations are so important to her that even if she losses more of herself  in each and every dance she muddles though.

Everything changes when she meets super-megastar Dawson Kellor. The fire between them is instantaneous.  He knows immediately that she doesn’t belong in this profession. When he sees her again in a professional manner he is stumped.  He knows that there is so much more to this woman than anyone can ever imagine. Grey tries to resist but with him she feels emotions that she’s never felt before.

____________________________

I loved Grey’s ambition and her motivation and thought she was quite inspiring.  Here we have this naive and innocent young woman that leaves the only life she’s ever known to go after her dream. Even with all the trials and temptation in her way it never deterred her from what was important. I was an awe how Jasinda was able to portray her character well. You can really feel how torn she was about her job and other relationship related decisions.

I loved Dawson’s character too. Knowing  the extent of Grey’s innocence and vulnerability he never even thought of taking advantage of her. Even when he barely knew her  he always demonstrated  understanding, generosity and protectiveness when she was involved. I appreciated how despite her profession he never disapproved with what she did for a living rather it felt like he respected her even more for it. The best thing I loved about this guy was  in ALL  things he manages to put her wants and  needs first.

The chemistry between the two was volatile. The passion and sex is wooahh spectacular (yeah, let me stop for a minute while I fan myself -again). The way the author describes these scene  was very impressive. It just wasn’t about the physical aspect of it but it was more about making that deeper connection that reaches the soul. To me, there’s so much more to tell and secretly I’m really hoping  we hear more of Grey and Dawson’s story.

If you are looking for a quick & easy yet sensual read this one won’t disappoint.
