Everything always seems to fall into place for twenty-four year-old Aubrey Jenson, except for when it comes to her luck with men. Bad boys always draw her in and crush her heart, and Black Falcon’s lead guitarist, Riff, is no exception. After sharing a few wild nights together, she leaves him behind, knowing a guy like Riff isn’t the relationship type, merely just a play thing.

When she returns to New York, she tries to get the passion she felt in Riff’s arms out of her head by dating Isaac, a successful representative at Center Stage Marketing. Just when she thinks she’s forgotten Riff, she’s forced to see him again when her best friend, Lane, ropes her into being a bridesmaid for her upcoming wedding to Black Falcon front man, Noel.

Sparks fly instantly between Aubrey and Riff when they’re forced to reunite, and suddenly she finds herself caught between the man that’s good for her and the one who completely rocks her in every way.

Liezel’s Thoughts:

“I don’t mean to hurt you, Kitten. I fucking love you and I don’t know how to handle it.”

After reading so many psychological, emotional and  depressing books lately, I so needed a light read and I picked the perfect one. Book 2 of the Black Falcon was one of my most anticipated books this month and I was not disappointed!

This one obviously about Zachary Oliver also known as Riff and Aubrey Jenson. Riff is the lead guitarist of Black Falcon, he first caught a glimpse of Aubrey backstage at one of their concerts. Being one very attractive woman he originally thought that she was one of them many groupies after a one night stand with any member of his band. Come to find out she works for Center Stage Marketing with Noel’s then ex-girlfriend Lane.

In this book we read about Riff’s history, why he’s hesitant in letting anyone in his heart. Aubrey has her own doubts too, is it possible to love someone with his reputation? Will he able to get over his past and accept the love that she had to offer?

“I swear I will never hurt you again. I’ll spend the rest of my life proving how much I love you if you let me.”

I loved that all the original characters were in it! I loved hearing about Noel and Lane and they were in this one a lot but it didn’t overshadow Riff and Aubrey at all. There was an absolute perfect balance. I also loved the chemistry between Riff and Aubrey, together they were HOT HOT HOT! I loved that both were willing to try new things together. And I love that Riff was real, he had a broken soul – repeatedly telling himself that he didn’t deserve love but in the end accepted happiness that only Aubrey could provide.

The only reason I didn’t give this a 5 star rating was because there was so many unanswered questions.  I wish that we found out more about Zach’s father, did he really go through with  their deal? I sure as hope not! And what about her family, no details on that. And and  and … what of  Isaac, is that even legal? The way he just fired her like that? What a jerk! Can’t wait to read about his proposal and their wedding!

Hopefully we get some of these questions answered in the next book or maybe even a novella before we get to Tyke or Trips story. So about Tyke or Trip… is there any way that we get a not so conventional relationship from one of the two? Would make life interesting don’t you think?

The Verdict:

rating-4
